Legendary horror author and director Clive Barker to receive Lifetime Achievement Award from the FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival on October 9, 2011 during their Gala Awards Ceremony.
Orlando, FL – September 21, 2011 – The 6th Annual FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival has announced that legendary horror author Clive Barker will receive the festival’s Lifetime Achievement “Freaky” Award at a gala ceremony to be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. The announcement was made today by Robert J. Massetti, Founder and Director of the FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival.
Mr. Massetti states, “We are honored to have Clive Barker be this years recipient of our Lifetime Achievement Award. His work as a horror author and filmmaker has had a great impact on the horror community and influenced many horror filmmakers including me. He has created truly iconic characters and stories that will be enjoyed by generations to come.”
Past recipients of the Lifetime Achievement “Freaky” Award have included the Godfather of Gore HG Lewis, Music Composer Henry Manfredini, and Director John Carpenter.
Clive Barker (born 5 October 1952) is an English author, film director and visual artist best known for his work in both fantasy and horror fiction. Barker came to prominence in the mid-1980s with a series of short stories which established him as a leading young horror writer. He has since written many novels and other works, and his fiction has been adapted into motion pictures, notably the Hellraiser and Candyman series.
The FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival is a horror genre film festival founded by FEAR FILM Motion Picture Studio’s owner Robert J. Massetti. The Festival is part of Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend, which is the largest horror convention in the state of Florida drawing more than 12,000 horror fans annually. The convention features celebrity guests, bands, tattoo room, and huge after parties by pool.
