FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival, presented by the Ship of Fear, will honor Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund with the Lifetime Achievement “FREAKY” Award on Sunday October 28, 2012 during their Gala awards ceremony at The Hilton Orlando.  Englund will be recognized for his iconic role as Freddy Krueger where he has scared horror audiences for nearly 30 years and his film direction for films like 976-EVIL and direct-to-DVD feature Killer Pad.

Robert Massetti, the Festival Director, states, “The Festival celebrates the art of filmmaking and exposes audiences to new independent horror films from around the world. We are honored to present this award to Mr. Englund not just for his great role as Freddy Krueger, but also for his huge support for the horror film industry.”

Named one of MovieMaker Magazine’s 20 Coolest Film Festivals and one of the 13 Horror Film Festivals to Die For! The FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival, presented by The Ship of Fear, is a horror genre film festival founded by FEAR FILM Motion Picture Studio’s owner Robert J. Massetti. The Festival is part of Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend, which is the largest horror convention in the state of Florida drawing more than 15,000 horror fans annually. The convention features celebrity guests, bands, tattoo room, vendor room and huge after parties by pool.

In its 7th year, the festival will take place on Friday October 26 – Sunday October 28, 2012. This will be the festival’s biggest year ever with an all new venue located at the Hilton Orlando Hotel, 6001 Destination Parkway, Orlando, FL 32819.  The Hilton features a comprehensive 15,000 square-foot Spa and Fitness Center, two resort pools, a lazy river, nine-hole executive golf course, a jogging track and seven creative dining options. The Hilton gives the Festival Larger 4 Star accommodations for both filmmakers and horror fans attending the event. “We are very excited to be moving to the Hilton Orlando,” states Mr. Massetti, “As we continue to improve the Festival, the move will give us more room to grow.”
